ABOUT WATER & FOODS

Uganda has a bunch of delicious and organic food. Below are ways to be responsible for what you consume and where. The house where you will be staying will have a housekeeper that will cook for you or a cook that will bring you meals on a daily basis. This options is much affordable because we can go grocery shopping for what we need and have it available at home or given to a cook to  prepare for you outside the home. This cost will run at about $5 per day.

To give you an idea of how far the USDollar goes in Uganda, here are some examples in American currency.

  • You can buy a full meal at a good restaurant from $2.50 to $8.00 at the luxury hotels and hi-end restaurants.

  • A bottle of water cost from $0.25 to $1.00

  • We can go grocery shopping and spend less that $100.USD to cook form home for a month's time. Diving that cost will make it most affordable

ABOUT WATER

The advice is to always drink bottled water purchased from groceries stores, restaurants, or any established business. No business offers cups of water. You can buy one of those individual filter bottles. I used one during my first trip. On my second trip I did really use anything.

Individual water bottles cost from 1,000. to 2,500.UGX ($0.40-to $0.60USD)

ABOUT THE FOOD

There are many great well established restaurants in and around the city. And of course they have everything from delicious vegetables, meats/fishes, and much more... all organic.

For this trip, during your stay I plan to hire a housekeeper to do the cooking, washing of clothes, and cleaning the home.. as noted above. IT will make everything easier for everyone.

Let me know in advance should you have allergies to certain foods. Overall food there is quite healthy and safe. We would only be dining in good restaurants when we go out to eat. Many of those all around.
